Team and Studio
Team and Studio add the studio tools to the free app. The licence lives in the library, so everyone who opens it gets them.
Add your licence #
The licence is a small .rdlic file, sent after you buy. It goes into the library folder, so one install covers everyone who opens that library.
- Open the library the licence is for.
- Drop the
.rdlicfile onto the ReviewDeck window. - A card says what the licence turned on, for everyone in the library.
Or open Settings, choose Licence and click Add licence file…, or Paste licence… to paste its text. Check now checks it in at once. What a licence reports, and what happens when it can't, is in the FAQ.
BrandingTeam #
Your name and logo on everything you send, and the app in your colours for everyone in the library.
- Open Settings and choose Branding.
- Check the Studio name, which comes from your licence, and click Choose logo…
- Pick colours, or Start from a palette. The preview shows a sent review in them, and the contrast check warns when text gets hard to read.
- Click Save brand. Everyone who opens the library sees the app in your colours.
Sent reviews, portal pages and PDFs carry your name and logo. With Team they add a small "made with ReviewDeck"; with Studio they carry yours alone. A wrong studio name is fixed by replying to your licence email. Covering note sets the words that go out with each send. You can allow people to keep their own theme in the app; what you send always carries the brand.
Admin toolsTeam #
An admin sees the whole library at a glance and signs reviews off.
- Open Settings, choose People and click Make me an admin. The first to claim it is the admin.
- Activity, in the library's sidebar, shows the reviews waiting on feedback, the sends that haven't come back and how long reviews take.
- Mark a signed-off review Final from its status menu (Status and Final).
- When someone leaves, move their reviews to someone else with Reassign reviews… in People, then free their seat with Remove from library.
An admin can also Take ownership of a single review from the owner's name in its header. Any owner can hand their own review on with Transfer to there, with or without a licence. More than one admin needs Studio, which adds the role menu in People.
Roles and rulesStudio
Studio adds roles (Admin, Reviewer, and Observer, who watches and reads but leaves no notes and holds no seat), the delete policy, a password rule for sends, and the register: every send, delete, restore, status change and sign-off, with who and when, searchable and exportable as CSV.
The rules shape what the app offers. Your folder permissions stay the real lock.
WatermarksStudio #
Each reviewer gets their own copy with their name and a trace code burned into every frame and still.
- Open Settings, choose Watermarks and pick the layout: Centre, Tiled diagonal, Moving or Corner (light). The preview shows it on a frame from your library.
- When you send, tick Watermark each copy, then put each person on their own line under For.
- Each person gets their own file, named for them.
- If a frame turns up where it shouldn't, type its code, like RD-K7Q2MX, into the Register to find the send.
Only an admin can change the watermark settings or read the register. An admin chooses whether the watermark is Offered, unticked, Ticked by default or Required. The text can carry the person's name, your studio's name, the date and the code. Mark new imports puts a watermark on media as it comes into the library too.
The drop folderStudio #
Renders and exports saved straight into the drop folder become reviews, or the next version of the review they match, with nobody importing them.
- Open Settings, choose Drop folder and turn it on.
- A folder called
_dropfolderappears beside the projects, with a folder for each project ending in "- drop here". Save your renders or exports into the project's folder. - Files can arrive one after another. Each is left alone while it is still being written, and comes in once it has stopped changing for a few minutes. Drop folder, in the library's sidebar, shows what is waiting and what is coming in.
- Each file goes where its name says.
Gate_Approach_v3.mp4becomes the next version of Gate_Approach, labelled v3, and a title the project doesn't have yet becomes a new review.
The original moves to _ingested, in a folder for each day. A name that only nearly matches a review, or a file outside every project folder, waits in _unsorted and is listed in the Drop folder view for someone to sort; nothing is guessed. The rule that reads the names and the wait are under Drop folder in Settings, and only an admin can change them. The drop folder works while ReviewDeck has the library open on a computer. On a cloud-synced library, name the computer that does the work under Which computer does the work, or nothing comes in.
