# Stills, sequences and audio - ReviewDeck docs

> Stills from a render or a game's texture folder, a folder of numbered frames played as a video, and audio on its waveform.

ReviewDeck 0.3.1. Checked 21 October 2026. https://reviewdeck.app/docs/stills-sequences-audio

## Stills and EXR

A still reviews like a video frame: zoom in to the detail, draw on it and leave the note.

Clip: https://reviewdeck.app/docs/clips/stills-sequences-audio/stills-and-exr.mp4

1. (0:00) Scroll the wheel over the picture to zoom in, up to eight times, or out below its size to see how it reads small.
2. (0:02) Drag to move round it. With a tool on, drag with the middle button.
3. (0:05) Draw and type the note as on a video. The markup stays on the picture at any zoom.
4. (0:17) Double-click the picture to fit it again.

### What it opens

- PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF
- TIFF, BMP, HEIC, AVIF
- EXR, HDR
- TGA, DDS, PSD
- DPX, JPEG 2000, SGI, QOI

Under the picture, where a video shows its timecode, a line gives its size, bit depth, whether it has alpha and its format. An EXR or HDR shows its linear light through a plain sRGB curve, over black, with anything brighter than white clipped. No view transform such as ACES, AgX or Filmic is applied, so it can look different from the viewer in the program that made it. A PSD needs Maximize Compatibility ticked when it was saved.

## Image sequences

A folder of numbered frames becomes one review that plays like a video, at the frame rate you choose.

Clip: https://reviewdeck.app/docs/clips/stills-sequences-audio/image-sequences.mp4

1. (0:00) Drag the folder of frames onto the project. Or right-click the project and choose **Add image sequence…**
2. (0:03) Check the **Title** and pick the **Frame rate**.
3. (0:10) Choose **Video** and click **Import**.

Only the encoded video is stored; the frames themselves are not copied. A gap of up to 24 frames in the numbering holds the frame before it, and a longer gap splits the run in two. Dropping a single frame of a run asks whether you meant the whole run.

## Audio

An audio file reviews on its waveform: notes land at a time, and a range loops like on a video.

Clip: https://reviewdeck.app/docs/clips/stills-sequences-audio/audio.mp4

1. (0:00) Play, then pause at the moment, or click the scrub bar under the waveform to go there.
2. (0:06) Type the note and click **Add note at this frame**.
3. (0:15) Drag sideways from the note's dot, just above the scrub bar, to cover a stretch. Select it and press play to loop it.

WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus and WMA open this way. Audio has no drawing tools.
